Gigi Hadid faces arrest in Cayman Islands for possessing marijuana

Last week, the renowned model Gigi Hadid found herself in legal trouble when she was arrested in the Cayman Islands on alleged marijuana possession, as reported by authorities.

Hadid’s friend and influencer Leah Nicole McCarthy was also detained. On July 10, when they boarded a private plane from the United States to the Cayman Islands, the police searched their bags and found that the charges they were facing were for importing marijuana and related items.

A minor sum was found and recovered by Cayman Islands Customs and Line Control during the occasion. She had been shipping pot that had been lawfully gotten in New York City and was upheld by an ongoing clinical permit, a representative answered the cases by clarifying to CBS News. The representative further stressed that Great Cayman has allowed weed need for clinical purposes starting around 2017.

The two ladies were delivered following their captures at Owen Roberts Global Air terminal.
